Duncan Dowson
Duncan Dowson CBE, FREng, FRS (born 31 August 1928) is a British engineer, and professor emeritus at University of Leeds.
Life
He studied at Lady Lumley's School. He earned a BSc and PhD from Leeds University in 1952.
He was director of the Institute of Tribology from 1967 to 1986.[1] He was President of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in 1992.[2] The Duncan Dowson prizse is named for him.[3]
